Mirror processing of stainless steel

Publish Time: 2024-01-11
Stainless steel surface processing is a common process in stainless steel processing, usually with wire drawing, mirror, etc.
Among them, stainless steel mirror panel is a very common metal decoration material, we can often see it in public places or large entertainment facilities.
However, the stainless steel mirror products processed and sold on the market are different for various reasons, and the effect of mirror products processed is uneven.
So, what is the cause of such "chaos"?
Stainless steel mirror panel is commonly known as "8K", "8" in "8K" refers to the proportion of alloy components (304 stainless steel mainly refers to the content of nickel), "K" refers to the level of reflectivity achieved after polishing (K is the mirror reflectivity level). 8K mirror is the mirror grade of chromium-nickel alloy steel.
Common mirror stainless steel has been extended to 6K, 10K, 12K due to the different fineness required by customers. The larger the number defined, the higher the fineness of mirror. 6K refers to roughly polished mirror panels, which are less effective than mirrors; 10K refers to finely polished mirror panels, which can be comparable to ordinary mirrors; 12K refers to ultra-fine polished mirror panels, which can meet optical purposes.
Usually, the bright annealed BA surface and passivated 2B surface stainless steel are processed to remove the oxide layer on the surface of stainless steel, and reveal the original bright and clean "nature" of its metal can be called mirror. At present, stainless steel mirror processing mainly through electrolytic polishing, chemical polishing and mechanical grinding polishing three ways; although the former two methods are very effective, but the cost is higher and the efficiency is low. Although the effect of mechanical grinding and polishing is slightly worse than that of the first two methods, the convenience and efficiency of its operation become the preferred method for mirror processing of stainless steel.
